Privacy
Last updated September 14, 2026. This covers the Nextwall website and the Nextwall Android app, which share one account.
The short version: you can browse and download anonymously. If you create an account, we store what your account needs to work — and nothing else.
Without an account
- Browsing and downloading are anonymous. No account is required and we do not build a profile of you.
- No ads, no ad trackers. There is no advertising on this site or in the app.
- Aggregate analytics only. Page views and country-level traffic, to understand what people like. No cross-site tracking.
- Downloads are counted, not attributed. We record how often a wallpaper is downloaded, not who downloaded it.
With an account
Creating an account is optional. If you create one, we store:
- Your email address and account ID, plus a display name if you set one. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; if you sign in with Google, we receive the email address and name on that Google account. We never see your password.
- Wallpapers you like and collections you save, so they appear on every device you sign in on.
- Images you upload. If you add your own images to your library, the image files and their filenames, dimensions and sizes are stored in your account so the app can download them to your phone. Your uploaded images are private to your account. They are never shown to other users, never published, never used to train anything, and never sold or shared.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe, Google Play processes the payment — we never receive your card details. We store the expiry date, the product purchased, and a one-way hash of the purchase token so the same purchase cannot be claimed by two accounts.
- In the app only: crash reports and basic usage events (Google Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics), and any message you choose to send through the feedback form.
Where it is stored
Account data, likes, saved collections and subscription status are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication). Uploaded image files are stored in Cloudflare R2 in a private bucket, reachable only through an authenticated request proving you own that account. Wallpaper images from our own catalogue are served from Cloudflare.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete it. Deleting your account permanently removes your account record, your likes, your saved collections, your subscription record and the image files you uploaded. Deleting a single uploaded image removes the file immediately; only a marker with its internal id and deletion time remains, so your other devices know to remove their copies. Aggregate analytics and download counts are not tied to you and are retained in aggregate form.
Deleting some of your data without deleting your account
You can remove individual pieces of data from your Nextwall account at any time and keep the account itself:
- Uploaded images — open My images on this site and use the × on any image. The image file and its thumbnail are deleted from our storage immediately. A small marker containing only the image's internal id and the deletion time — no filename, no image data — is kept so your other devices know to remove their copy; it is removed with the account if you ever delete that.
- Likes — unlike the wallpaper in the app or on My Likes. The like is removed from your account immediately.
- Saved collections — remove the collection from your account page or stop its rotation in the app. It is removed immediately.
- Display name — edit or clear it from your profile in the app.
What stays while your account exists: your email address and account ID (the account cannot work without them), and your subscription record if you have one. To remove those, delete the account itself — see below.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, from your account page on this site, or from Settings in the Android app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If a subscription is active, cancel it in Google Play — deleting your Nextwall account does not cancel Play billing.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Deletion is self-service above; for anything else, email us and we will respond. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your uploaded images for any purpose other than showing them back to you on your own devices.
Children
Nextwall is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If a future feature changes what we collect, this page is updated before that feature launches, and the date at the top changes with it.
